Overview
The Transit Lounge was one of the main sites in the group of websites the Uniting Church in Australia manage and control. It is aimed at a younger generation of Christians.
The Transit Lounge is an e-zine that explores issues of faith, Christianity, spirituality, ethics, beliefs and values. The Transit Lounge is themed and updated fortnightly and we invite you to join in online discussions about the very issues we raise about life's wonderful journey.
The site features online editing and by numerous editors and content contributers, dynamic image galleries, blogging interaction for each article, an interactive online forum and also a few other key social networking features.
Solution
A custom implementation of Joomla content management system and an array of components and custom made modules was required to complete this project. We design and created a custom Joomla template that was light and dynamic in nature. The Joomla template was made using a semantic layout that is optimized for search engines and website accessibility.
Upon successful launch of the website, there was an immediate hit of over 200 unique visitors in the first few hours of the website being live, thanks to a email campaign that went out with the launch of the website.
